The mountain location and views are stunning and make for a peaceful retreat. the hot springs are definitely the highlight of the hotel, with both indoor and outdoor options and smooth water that feels good on the skin. the staff are friendly and informative, and some even speak English. They really went out of their way to accommodate our requests and early breakfast.
The hotel is quite expensive, especially for families. the rooms are spacious and clean, but feel a bit outdated and impersonal.

Nestled in the lush mountains, this traditional ryokan offers a perfect retreat. The outdoor hot springs are simply stunning, with both private and mixed options and the milky blue color is just breath-taking. Staff, friendly and very informative, explain what you are eating at the excellent diner. The location itself is beautiful and the Alpico line bus drops you off directly at the hotel.
The location of the ryokan is quite far from the city, so make sure to plan ahead. Additionally, the views from the room weren't as great as we expected. However, the incredible baths, the traditional establishment, and the informative staff make up for any flaws.
